About the campaign
Feel The Heat is a
Marketing Birmingham campaign which aims to increase awareness of Birmingham’s fabulous arts scene. The campaign aims to cover everything from ballet and opera to bhangra, rock and pop. From what’s on at the NEC to what’s on at art galleries.
Central to the campaign is this website where people can go to find out what’s on in the city, whether they are visiting for a weekend or live locally.
The website is promoted on all our advertising which spans national press titles including The Sunday Times, The Daily Mail, The Independent and The Guardian.
Why do the “Feel the Heat” images look like they do?
Our creative route is all based around thermal imaging photography. We wanted something that would stand out against other advertisements and catch the public’s attention.
Photographs were taken using a thermal imaging camera which is only normally used for scientific projects! The artists were photographed individually so that different arts genres can be represented individually or grouped together. The colours that come through on the photography are very striking.
